Manas National Park
A hidden gem on the India-Bhutan border with wild beauty and rare wildlife
Manas feels untouched. Tucked away in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, right on the border of Bhutan, it's one of India’s most pristine and under-explored national parks.
My first visit here was quiet. There were no crowds, no convoy of jeeps. Just dense sal forests, golden grasslands, and a silence that made every sound of the jungle more vivid. Manas rewards those who wait - and observe.

📸 Slow Composition Wins
Manas is not about action sequences. It's about mood, setting, and stillness.

Gee’s Golden Langur
A golden mother held her baby close. The world was quiet. Only love spoke.
Gee’s golden langurs are rare treasures of the wild. Seeing them felt like finding a piece of magic.
But magic is fragile.
Their home needs to be protected.
Their story deserves to go on.

My Experience at Manas
I visited Manas in late winter. The forest was alive but subtle. Tall grasses swayed in the wind, and the sun broke through the tree canopy in patterns.
We spotted a herd of wild elephants crossing the Beki River-peaceful and undisturbed. One morning, a capped langur paused on a tree limb just as golden light lit up its fur. That shot still remains one of my quiet favorites.
Unlike other parks, here you get time. Time to sit, listen, and frame your images slowly.Wildlife Seen in Manas

The guides here are local and deeply respectful of the jungle. One of them once pointed out a fresh tiger pugmark near the river crossing. We waited for nearly an hour, saw nothing—but that wait, with the jungle holding its breath, is etched in memory.
