Your photographs get polite compliments, but they do not yet look like yours. You have upgraded the body and the glass, watched the tutorials, put in the seasons, and the work has quietly stopped moving. The ceiling is rarely the gear. It is the lack of a direction, and of someone who has walked the road before.

Coaching is that direction. We set out where your work is going, then meet over months to review frames, talk through the decisions behind them, and adjust the plan as you grow. Not a single fix, but a hand on the work between every trip.

What is a wildlife photography mentor?

A mentor is the person who stays with your photography between the trips, not just on one. A workshop teaches you for a week. A mentor watches the work change over months, names the two or three habits holding it back, and keeps adjusting the plan as your eye grows. The subject can be anything you point a lens at, birds, big cats, the small behaviour most people walk past. What you get is not another tutorial but a direction, and an honest read on where the work actually is.

Does online mentorship work for wildlife photography?

Better than most people expect. You cannot stand beside me in the hide, but the field is only half of wildlife photography. The other half is the decisions: reading the light, choosing the moment, editing with restraint, building a portfolio that points somewhere. Those we work on from anywhere, on your own files, through your seasons. Online wildlife photography mentorship also frees us from one location and one fixed week, so the help arrives while you are actually photographing.

A plan, not a pep talk we begin by naming where your work is and where you want it, then build a roadmap you can actually follow, revisited as you improve.

Someone who stays most help ends when the trip does. Coaching is the relationship around all your trips, so progress does not stall in the months between them.

First-principles feedback I do not tell you what I would prefer. I show you the forces at work, where the eye lands, what competes, why a frame holds, so you can make the call yourself next time.

Built on subtraction the same way I shoot and edit. We find the one thing a photograph is about, then remove what gets in its way, across your whole body of work.

Honest about fit if coaching is not what you need right now, I will say so on the free call, and point you to an editing session or a workshop instead.

A free discovery call
We talk through where you are and where you want to go. By the end we both know whether coaching is the right fit, and which format suits you. No pressure either way.

Your written roadmap
I write up a plan for your growth: your strengths, the few things holding the work back, and the path from here. It is yours to keep, whether or not we go on.

Monthly sessions
We meet online, around an hour, to review your frames, talk through the decisions, and set the next step. You leave each one with a clear thing to work on.

Work between sessions
Assignments built around your goal, with a detailed feedback loop and a mid-month check-in, so the work keeps moving when we are not on a call.

I am in the field every season and at the desk every week, working the same way I will teach you: deciding what a photograph is about, then removing what competes with it. In coaching I am not handing you my style. I am helping you find, and trust, your own.

How much does wildlife photography mentorship cost?

How is this different from a private workshop?

A private workshop is one focused trip. Coaching is the ongoing relationship around all of them: the plan, the reviews, and the direction between trips.

How long does a coaching block run?

A block is usually around three months: a roadmap, monthly sessions, and assignments with feedback between. We settle the exact shape on your discovery call.

Do I need to be at a certain level?

No. Coaching meets you where you are. What matters more is that you have a direction in mind, even a rough one, and want a plan and a mentor to get there.

What happens between sessions?

You work on assignments built around your goal, and I stay reachable for a mid-month check-in and a detailed feedback loop. The months between trips are where most of the growth actually happens.

Can we focus on editing, or fieldcraft, or building an audience?

Yes. Coaching can move across technique, fieldcraft, composition, editing, portfolio building, and visibility. We focus on what will move your work the most right now.

Do I get a recording and notes?

Yes. Each session comes with a recording and notes, so you can act on them at your own pace rather than scrambling to remember.

What if coaching is not the right fit?

Then I will say so on the free call, and point you to the thing that is. I would rather send you to the right help than sell you the wrong one.
