Plan with me

You got the shot in the field. Then the edit comes out muddy, or oversharpened, or noisy, or just not what you saw through the viewfinder. You have watched a dozen tutorials and you are still guessing.

An editing session is the fix. We meet online, share your screen, and work through your own RAW files together. Not a preset to paste on, but the reasons behind each move, so the next edit is one you can make on your own.

Why this

Why this, specifically.

01

Two or three decisions most edits fail on the same few choices, where the eye should land, what pulls it away, how far to push. Fix those and the whole take improves, not just one frame.

02

Workflow, not presets a preset shortcuts the symptom. This teaches the decision, so you can repeat it on the next hundred frames.

03

Your files, your software we work in Lightroom Classic, Camera Raw, Photoshop, Capture One, DxO, or whatever you already use. Nothing to buy or relearn.

04

Honest edits we reveal what was there, the light, the detail, the mood, and never fabricate it. No adding or removing animals, no composite sightings, contest-compliant.

05

A designer's eye years of visual design sit behind the photography. The same first principles, where the eye lands and what to remove, shape every edit and how it is exported to publish.

What you get

What you take away.

What we cover depends on your photos and what you need. A session might touch any of these.

  • ·Raw files turned into portfolio-ready images, exported the right way for your website, your blog, or social
  • ·A finished version of your real files, with every decision explained
  • ·A workflow you can repeat on the next hundred images, not just the ones we edit
  • ·The reasons behind each move, so you can make it again on your own
  • ·A recording of the session and a short notes pack, for the deep dive and the block

Pulled the white balance back from the warm cast the raw came out with, so the dusk reads the calm, true way it felt in the field. Nothing added, just balanced.

Who it’s for

An honest fit check.

This is for you if

  • Your field work is solid, but your edits are not where you want them yet
  • You want to understand why an edit works, not just copy a recipe
  • You have RAWs you love but cannot quite finish
  • You are starting out and want to learn the decisions properly, from the beginning

Probably not, if

  • You want me to edit your photos for you. This is a clinic where you learn to do it, not a service edit.
  • You are looking for presets or a one-click look. We work on the decisions instead.
How it works

From your goal to the field.

  1. 01

    Pick a format

A single session for one focused problem, a deep dive for a whole workflow, or a three-session block over a month.

  2. 02

    Book a slot

Choose a time that works and you get a Google Meet link. Then send five to ten RAW files and a one-line note on what is frustrating you.

  3. 03

    We edit, live

We meet on Google Meet and share your screen, working in your software on your real photographs. I explain each move as we go.

  4. 04

    You keep the workflow

You leave with finished files, the reasons behind them, and a sequence you can repeat on your own. A recording and notes come with the longer formats.

Your instructor

Taught by someone who still shoots, and edits, every week.

I edit my own wildlife work the same way I teach it, by subtraction: deciding what the frame is about, then removing what competes with it. In a session I am not handing you a look. I am showing you the decisions, on your files, so you can make them again on your own.

Questions

Before you enquire.

Will this work if I am a complete beginner?

Yes. The session is built around what you bring, so we start where you are. Beginners often see the biggest jump in a single sitting, because the basics, once they click, change everything downstream.

Do you work with software other than Lightroom?

Yes. Camera Raw, Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One, DxO, Topaz, whatever you already use. We work in your software, so what you learn fits the tools you have.

What files should I send, and how?

Five to ten RAW files that show the problem you want to solve. WeTransfer or Google Drive is fine. A one-line note on what is frustrating you helps me prepare.

Do I get a recording and notes?

For the deep dive and the three-session block, yes, a recording and a short notes pack. For the single session, on request.

Can one session really make a difference?

For most photographers, yes. The issue is usually two or three repeated decisions, not a hundred small ones. Fix those and a whole take improves, not just one frame.

Is this presets, or real workflow?

Workflow. I do not sell presets. A preset shortcuts the symptom, this teaches the decision, so the next edit is one you can make without me.

Do you edit naturally, or heavily?

We edit to reveal what was there, the light, the detail, the mood, and not to fabricate it. No adding or removing animals, no composite sightings. Clean, honest, and contest-compliant.

Will you edit my photos for me?

No. This is an educational clinic, built so you can do it yourself. If you want someone to edit a set for you as a service, this is not the right thing, and I will say so.
