A private workshop is for the trip that does not fit a set date or a fixed place. You bring the goal, a species you have wanted to photograph, a region you keep returning to, or the wish to slow down and see better. I bring the where, the when, and the read on the light. You do not need to have the destination worked out. Working that out is my job.
Wildlife is wild, so I plan for the best chances and never promise sightings. What I can promise is an honest plan, built around you, and the time to make frames you will keep.

These are the landscapes I travel most, across India, Nepal, Bhutan and Kenya, though not only these. A sense of the range, from tiger forests to the high Himalaya to the African savanna. Your trip is planned around your goal, not picked from a fixed list.

- A fixed group date already suits you. That costs less, and it is the better value when the dates work.
- You want a guaranteed sighting of one specific animal. I plan for chances, not certainties.
- You are after a leisure trip with photography on the side. This is the other way around.

Within a day or two, an itemised proposal: where we go, when, how we spend each day, and what it costs. No guesswork on price.

We adjust the plan and the dates until they fit your leave and your goal. You commit only when it is right.

We go
Into the field together. We read the light and the behaviour, and review your frames as we go.

I plan every private trip myself, around your goal and your dates, and I am the one beside you in the field. I won’t promise sightings. I will read the light and the behaviour with you, review your frames as we go, and help you come home with a small set you actually keep.

Pricing depends on the destination, the season, and how many days we are out. I send an itemised quote before you commit, and I will never leave you guessing. If a group date works for you, that costs less. This is for when you want it built around you.

How is this different from a group workshop?
A group workshop runs on set dates with a small group, at a fixed price. A private workshop is the same field learning, with the dates, destination, and pace built only around you. It costs more, so if a group date works for you, that is the better value.
I do not know where to go. Can you decide?
Yes, that is the point. You bring the goal, a species, a region, or a way of seeing you want to develop, and I work out the destination, the season, and the plan. You do not need to have it figured out before we talk.
Where does pricing start?
It depends on the destination and length, so it is always a conversation. I send an itemised quote before you commit, with no surprises.
Can my partner or a friend join?
Yes. A couple, or a small group of two or three, works well for a private trip. Tell me who is coming and I will plan for it.
I am still a beginner. Is private overkill?
Not necessarily, but I will be honest with you. If a group workshop would serve you better right now, I will say so. Private suits you when you have a specific goal, or little time.
How far ahead should I plan?
The more notice the better, especially for the dry-season tiger windows and the winter migration, which fill up. Ask anyway, and I will tell you what is realistic for your window.
What if the wildlife does not cooperate?
Wildlife is wild, so I plan for the best chances and never promise sightings. We read behaviour, work the light, and use the time to slow down. The plan is honest about that from the start.
