Spring offers peak bird song, breeding plumages and relatively stable weather; winter brings altitudinal migrants and clearer skies but colder conditions.

- roadside birding and short forest walks; no designated jeep safaris inside the core
- Typical sightings
- Mid- to high-elevation forest birds along roadside perches and mixed flocks, with occasional mammal crossings at dawn and dusk.
- Light and terrain
- Steep slopes and dense forest create mixed light; roadside clearings can offer good backdrops and diffused light in mist and cloud.
- Hides
- Birding is primarily from roads and natural clearings; no formal hides for visitors.
- Good to know
- Inner Line Permits for Indian nationals and Protected Area Permits for foreigners are required to enter Arunachal Pradesh; access subject to weather and road conditions.
