Melghat Tiger Reserve
BetaMelghat is a steep, hilly tiger reserve in the Satpura range, where the terrain makes tigers hard to track. It holds gaur, sloth bear and the rare forest owlet.
Why this place matters
One of India's original nine tiger reserves, protecting a major Satpura watershed and a key genetic reservoir for central Indian tigers.
