This atlas is in beta. I am still checking facts, ranges, and species lists, so some of it may be wrong or incomplete. It is here early so these places get seen. If you spot an error, write to me.

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve

Beta

Pilibhit holds one of the densest tiger populations in the Terai, along the Nepal border. Its mix of sal forest and tall grassland makes for good, if difficult, photography.

Why this place matters

A hyper-critical transboundary corridor linking the Indian Terai to Nepal's Suklaphanta National Park.

The wildlife

A field list of species recorded in this landscape, with current IUCN Red List status.

Reptiles

Reptiles include Mugger Crocodile.

Plan your visit

Spring offers the best visibility as the dense Terai grasses recede.
